About Professor Andrew Crespo
Professor Andrew Crespo is the Morris Wasserstein Public Interest Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, where he teaches criminal law and leads the Institute to End Mass Incarceration. A former public defender and Supreme Court law clerk, Professor Crespo made history as the first Latino to serve as president of the Harvard Law Review and later as the first Latino tenured professor at Harvard Law School. His acclaimed scholarship focuses on the American penal system, mass incarceration, and the role of lawyers in advancing social movements. His public commentary appears in outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and NPR.
